Preparing for Surgery:
If you are going to sleep, which means having general anesthesia with intravenous (IV) medication, you must not have anything to eat or drink (including water) after midnight the night before surgery.
Please wear comfortable clothing. Choose a top with sleeves that roll up easily so that your IV can be started in your forearm.
Arrange for a responsible adult to come with you on the day of surgery. For your safety, someone must drive you home and stay with you after surgery. You will be drowsy and will need assistance.
We appreciate your prompt arrival for an appointment and will make every effort to see you at that time. We sincerely try to keep on schedule, but due to the nature of oral surgery, delays occasionally occur. We will seat you as quickly as possible.
If you must change an appointment, please call our office 48 hours in advance so that we can use this time for another patient.
